Park Heights Youth Apprenticeship Program

In fall of 2021, I partnered with Community Leader Yeshiyah Israel and Park Heights Renaissance to hire 10 young people in Baltimore to paint murals on security grates along the 5100 block of Park Heights Ave. We spent many weeks workshopping art practices and collaborating with the local businesses prior to painting. Apprentices learned about the design process, getting permission to paint a mural, the effects of public art, and how to make money doing art! We celebrated the completion of the project in December with a Mural Walk where apprentices go to speak to their neighbors about their designs and what the project has done for them.
